Edgar L. Woods grew up in the Lowcountry of SC where he spent most of his youth on farms and large hunting plantations. He graduated from Clemson University in 1983 and holds a B.S. degree in Agricultural Mechanization and Business. In 1985, he founded and now serves as President of Palmetto Grain Brokerage, LLC, which specializes in cash grain brokerage, futures/options trading, transportation and farm management services. Palmetto Grain Brokerage is headquartered in Ridgeland, S.C. He is also President of Performance Ag, LLC, a licensed South Carolina grain dealer/merchant, is a founding partner of Silveus Southeast and is a partner of the feed ingredient trading company Agriculture Products Exchange (APEX) with offices located in New York, Iowa, and South Carolina. He holds a futures series 3 license from the National Futures Association and is a founding member/director of Atlantic Community Bank, which is headquartered in Bluffton, S.C. Mr. Woods is a member of the National Feed and Grain Association, served as president of the Southeastern Grain and Feed Association, is a managing member of the SC Ag Group, president of the South Carolina Grain Dealers, and is a board member of the Palmetto Agribusiness Council. He and his wife Karin have two daughters: Katie and Becky. The family resides in Rose Hill Plantation in Bluffton, S.C. They are also active members of the Lowcountry Community Church in Bluffton, S.C. |
Gib is from rural Hampton County, SC, where his grandfather, father, and uncle planted row crops and sold tractors and farm equipment. He received a B.S. and an M.S. in Agricultural Economics from Clemson University. After a nine year stint with the Clemson Extension Service, he spent several years in the turf grass management field. Since late 2001, Gib has been with Palmetto Grain, and for most of that time he has managed the Futures Clearing Department, and holds Series 3 Certification from the National Futures Association..

Upon graduating from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural and Applied Economics in 1995, Brenton went to work for the National Cotton Council as a Field Representative calling on producers and ginners in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia. He was responsible for relaying national cotton industry policy back to the producer and ginner membership. Brenton then joined Edgar Woods and Palmetto Grain Brokerage to help create the Pinnacle Marketing Program, working hand-in-hand with individual farming operations.

A native of Hilton Head Island Chellie graduated from the University of South Carolina with a BS in Management. Chellie worked for many years in the food service industry managing restaurants and their staff. She returned to school at Johnson & Wales University earning a BA in Culinary Arts. Upon graduating from Johnson & Wales, Chellie worked at Emory University in Atlanta, GA as their Catering Director managing a team 15-30 employees while running dinners and meetings for up to 600 guests. Chellie joined Palmetto Grain Brokerage in 2008 to work with our Pinnacle team, eventually teaming up with Brenton to help him manage our South Carolina division and work directly with those producers. Since ‘08 Chellie’s management skills have been invaluable to the Pinnacle team and our SC division. She enjoys working with the farmers of SC and takes a tremendous amount of pride in being responsible for helping them manage their contracts after the trade and providing shipping tickets to make delivery simple and seamless. Chellie’s favorite part of her job are all the relationships she has built and the friendships she has made with her customers. Chellie and her husband Michael live in Bluffton with their son, Cullen. Outside of the office Chellie enjoys cooking and spending time with Michael and Cullen at the beach and pool. On fall weekends she loves pulling for her SC Gamecock football team and participating with everyone in the Monday morning office banter. She is an active member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church and is a parent volunteer at Cullen’s school.

Brooks was raised in Western North Carolina in the rural area of Alexander county. Being the son of a large animal veterinarian he grew up very involved in agriculture. He worked on many different agriculture operations in the area. For undergrad, he attended NC State earning a Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Business Management and minor in Economics. While attending NC State, he worked at the Dairy Education Unit and also at the NC Department of Agriculture for the International Marketing Division. After completing the undergraduate degree, Brooks was offered a research assistantship at the University of Illinois to complete his Master’s Degree in Agricultural Economics. His research topic was using marketing with crop insurance for a portfolio approach to risk management for corn and soybean farmers. Brooks joined Palmetto Grain in August 2010 to work with North Carolina and Virginia farmers. |

Brenton would challenge anyone to find a group of more educated producers than here in the southeast.
